Machines we use?

We use deep carpet cleaning machines (Semca).  We use these machines to do a deep clean on carpets without damaging the fibers.  Steam carpet cleaning machines inject water and cleaning solutions into the carpet fibers.  The user fills the tank with hot water and cleaning solutions.  The other section of the machine is the holding tank for dirty water.  Steam carpet cleaning machines use both hot and cold water applications.  No steam is technically used for this type of equipment.
 
How ofter should I have my carpets washed

Depending on the amount of football and general state of the carpets, this sort of intensive cleaning may be needed every six months.  
 
 
 
 

Preventative Measures

  • There are steps that can be taken to minimize the need for carpet cleaning. Areas just outside the house, particularly around doorways, should be swept and kept clean. Doormats should be used. Rugs should be used to protect vulnerable areas, such as under tables. Regular maintenance of the carpet will help to keep it clean and in good condition.The most important preventative measure is to regularly vacuum the carpet. This removes surface dirt and dust, and helps preserve the carpet.

Cleaning Spills

  • Spillages and stains should be treated with the correct stain remover. Once cleaned, allow carpet to air dry rather than use a hairdryer or any other application of heat. Other methods of cleaning include shampooing and dry-cleaning, but these methods can also agitate the fiber, possibly damaging the carpet. Shampooing and dry-cleaning tend to give a lighter clean, not reaching deeply-embedded dirt that a deep carpet cleaning does.

Deep Cleaning

  • The deep extraction method used by Semca and some other carpet cleaning machines pretreats the carpet with special detergents, and uses hot water and steam to extract deeply ingrained dirt .The water and dirt are immediately removed with powerful suction. The carpet is left damp, not wet, and is dry in two or three hours. This type of cleaning can also be used on upholstery, but a smaller machine is used for this.
